Performs skilled and team-oriented work supporting the maintenance, daily operations, and upkeep of municipal golf courses to ensure safe, attractive, and high-quality playing conditions for patrons and the community. Assists in coordinating daily maintenance activities, provides direction, guidance, and support to maintenance personnel, and promotes a collaborative, efficient, safe, and service-focused work environment. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Golf Course Superintendent, with responsibility for providing day-to-day direction and oversight to assigned staff.

• Leads and works alongside maintenance staff to foster a cooperative, respectful, and team-oriented work environment.
• Provides daily guidance, instruction, and hands-on support to employees to ensure high-quality turf and course conditions.
• Communicates clear expectations, priorities, and performance standards to promote efficiency and accountability.
• Coordinates daily work assignments and adjusts workloads as needed to ensure timely completion of course maintenance activities.
• Trains and mentors' employees in proper maintenance techniques, equipment operation, safety procedures, and established work practices.
• Promotes a strong culture of workplace safety by modeling safe work practices, conducting safety discussions, and addressing hazards promptly.
• Monitors work progress and provide constructive, real-time feedback to maintain quality standards.
• Supports employee development by providing coaching, mentoring, and opportunities for continued learning.
• Addresses employee questions and concerns appropriately and promotes open, respectful communication.
• Assists in resolving workplace conflicts and maintaining positive working relationships among team members.
• Collaborates with golf course management and golf operations staff to coordinate maintenance activities with daily play schedules, tournaments, and special events.
• Helps ensure golf course conditions, appearance, and playability meet established standards and enhance the experience of golfers and the community.
• Assists staff in troubleshooting equipment, irrigation, turf, and other maintenance-related issues.
• Helps ensure employees have the appropriate tools, equipment, materials, and information necessary to perform their duties effectively.
• Reinforces customer-service expectations and promotes positive interactions between maintenance staff, golfers, visitors, and the public.
• Serves as a liaison between maintenance staff and supervisors to facilitate clear communication and consistent direction.
