Job Description – Manufacturing Technician (HVAC)
Our client is hiring full-time Manufacturing Technicians to produce our innovative commercial air conditioning units. This individual will play a pivotal role in the creation and assembly of our cutting‑edge products. Reporting to the Team Lead – Production, the Manufacturing Technician will be responsible for assembling Blue Frontier HVAC units and associated subsystems, and may also be involved with supporting testing, material handling, and other organizational and administration tasks in the workshop.
This role will join an existing team of experienced technicians and will have the support and guidance to excel in the role, as well as opportunities for learning and development.
As part of the team, you'll have the opportunity to showcase your ability to meticulously follow assembly procedures and directions, ensuring that products meet the highest standards of quality. We value strong organizational skills, effective communication, and a keen eye for detail, all of which are essential qualities for success in this role.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesPreparation of components and materials required for assembly
Follow written and verbal instructions to inspect and test systems to verify compliance with plans and specifications and to detect malfunctions
Assembly of components, sub‑assemblies, and systems for HVAC units
Assist with general workshop tasks, including workstation setup, parts receiving, inventory/stock management, cleaning, sorting, and administration
Assist with testing Blue Frontier HVAC units when required
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental laws, regulations, and guidelines
Coordinate with team members to complete projects on time
Ensure all written instructions, calibrated equipment, and material with expiration dates are up to date prior to use and raise any concerns about quality or safety to management and engineering
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Flexible and adaptable to meet changing needs within the department
Consistent attendance and punctuality
Demonstrable practical workshop skills – e.g. mechanical assembly in custom job shops, small‑scale manufacturing, auto shop work or similar
Skilled with hand tools and knowledge of safety standards and procedures
Perform manufacturing processes independently on complex and routine assigned tasks while following company policies and written instructions
Demonstrable ability to understand technical concepts related to mechanical assembly
Ability to read/interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and measurements
Attention to detail and focused work ethic is essential
Plumbing and/or electrical wiring skills or experience would be a plus, but are not required
Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, with assistance, on a consistent basis
