Job SummaryThe Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant functions within their scope of practice as a healthcare provider working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to patients and families. They demonstrate a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses.
Key Duties and Responsibilities- Supervise the care of critically ill patients.
- Performs comprehensive history and physical assessments of patients that are thorough, complete, concise, relevant, and appropriate for age, gender and tailored to the patient’s clinical condition.
- Manages general medical and surgical conditions based on knowledge of the indications, contraindications, side effects, interactions and adverse reactions of pharmacologic agents and other relevant treatment modalities.
- Facilitates consistent, coordinated care and clear communication among all members of the healthcare team.
- Maintains accurate, complete, concise, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
Job Requirements
- Nurse Practitioner require Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from an accredited nursing program
- Physician Assistant requires Bachelors or Master’s degree from accredited PA program
- Authorized to work in the U.S.
- 2 years of Nurse Practitioner experience preferred
- Board Certified in Acute Care
- Active State license and DEA
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing/documentation.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work.
- Fast-paced environment with occasional high pressure or emergent situations.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and to develop strong working relationships with clinical and administrative teams.
- Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills.
