- In collaboration with supervising physicians, the APRN directly manages
- the care of complex acutely ill patients via face-to-face, telehealth, or
- other communication devices. The APRN is an expert in patient care
- who provides quality care, performs patient assessments, H & Ps, and
- takes a thorough medical history. The APRN can order and interpret
- laboratory and diagnostic tests. The APRN develops medical diagnoses,
- appropriate treatment plan, prescribes medical regimen, and educates
- patients/family regarding diagnosis and plan of care. May perform
- approved procedures and order medications as indicated in the
- Delineation of Privileges. The APRN works directly with physicians, staff,
- administration, patients and families to ensure quality of care across the
- health system. The APRN is a clinical team leader that intervenes and
- manages deteriorating patients. The APRN integrates evidence-based
- practice and technological advances into their scope of practice. The
- APRN may participate in research initiatives, data collection, quality
- improvement, discharge planning, and coordination of patient care within
- the area of practice. The APRN participates in and facilitates patient
- throughput, optimal patient outcomes,optimal length of stay and
- improved patient satisfaction.
- 3 years of relevant RN experience required. Compliant with state of Florida requirements for CEUs and licensure.
- DEA License required as per specialy/function. Advanced Cardiac Life Support requires as per specialy/function. Nurse Practitioner National Certification required. Obtain medical staff credentialing and privileges as needed for practice location.
- Minimum Experience requirements: 3 years plus BLS certification.
