Job OverviewThe Senior Manager, Analytical Development will support the development of analytical methods and lead a team of analytical development scientists. The role involves directing day‑to‑day operations, planning future projects, ensuring compliance with cGMP, and managing validation, development, and qualification studies.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities- Lead and direct the work of analytical development scientists.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the analytical development team.
- Plan and schedule projects, including budget and timelines, and ensure timelines are met.
- Serve as a process and scientific subject‑matter expert.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP processes, training, and procedures.
- Respond to internal and external audit reports.
- Direct validation, development, and qualification studies and reports.
- Strong leadership and staff‑management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- Excellent critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities.
- Proficiency in preparing spreadsheets, data analysis, and presentations for both small and large groups.
- Demonstrated experience in experimental design, process improvement, and data interpretation.
- Master’s degree or PhD in biochemistry, chemical engineering, biophysics, biology, or a related discipline.
- Bachelor’s degree with 12 years of process development experience is acceptable in lieu of an advanced degree.
- 10+ years of experience developing protein purification processes.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a GMP environment.
- Protein biochemistry and immunoglobulin chemistry.
- Assay development and validation.
- GMP method development and validation.
- Technical transfer of methods.
