What defines success at ADT?The Residential Service Technician’s primary functions and responsibilities are troubleshooting, configuring, reconstructing, and programming existing security and site automation solutions.
What are your key responsibilities?- Services fire and carbon monoxide detection, networking, hosted video solutions, and access control.
- Follow and complete required processes of wired/wireless technology and connection procedures.
- Test and validate system signals/communication with central monitoring to properly establish service.
- A customer service champion, demonstrating the willingness to help customers fix and understand their protection.

The Residential Service Technician is a troubleshooter and service expert who alleviates customer concerns about a security system. The technician advises customers and the customer care center on system status, inspections, and process updates.
- Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
- Readjust equipment, repair or replace inoperative equipment, and test for operation.
- Read blueprints, building, and electrical plans to complete equipment repairs.
- Prepare trouble order forms to report temporary repairs.
- Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum 2 years installing and inspecting/repairing ADT or comparable product line.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to read building electrical and sprinkler plans as required for clearing equipment trouble.
- Standing, stooping, lifting, climbing, crawling.
- Valid driver's license required.

Pay and Benefits DisclosureThe pay range for this role is $21.29 - $39.43 an hour, based on experience and qualifications. We offer access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan with company match, short‑term and long‑term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, and paid time off. Employees accrue up to 120 hours in their first year, with an increased accrual rate after the first year.
We also offer six paid holidays.
