Lead Coatings Inspector - NACE Level 3

£45,000 - £48,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience and qualifications) An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Lead Coatings Inspector (NACE Level
3) to join an established industrial painting company, with almost 40 years of experience in the preparation, treatment and protective coating of steel and industrial structures. Working across industries including Oil & Gas, Offshore, Defence, Nuclear and Construction, this is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys maintaining high quality standards, working closely with production teams and making a real difference to the success of projects.

This is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring coatings meet customer specifications and industry standards, while supporting continuous improvement across the production team. What we need from you:
Current NACE Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) Previous experience within industrial blasting and painting operations A good understanding of coating systems, surface preparation standards and inspection techniques Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) Experience producing inspection reports and quality documentation Excellent communication skills with the ability to coach and support colleagues A proactive, practical and hands-on approach Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel and SharePoint Full UK driving licence Desirable:

Experience with in Oil & Gas, Offshore, Marine, Nuclear, Defence or Heavy Engineering, together with previous leadership or supervisory experience within a coatings environment. What the role involves:
Carrying out coating inspections in line with customer specifications and industry standards Inspecting surface preparation, environmental conditions, wet and dry film thickness, holiday testing and completed coatings Maintaining accurate inspection records and quality documentation Investigating quality issues and supporting corrective actions where required Working closely with blasting and painting teams to improve quality and reduce rework Coaching and supporting colleagues to promote right-first-time workmanship Reviewing engineering drawings, customer specifications and Inspection & Test Plans Assisting with the development of quality procedures and inspection processes Acting as the main quality representative during customer inspections and audits Building strong working relationships with customers, third-party inspectors and production teams Supporting production to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest standards Salary: £45,000 - £48,000 per annum (negotiable depending on experience and qualifications).

Hours:

Monday to Thursday: 7:30am - 4:00pm , Friday: 7:30am - 2:00pm.

There will be opportunities to work overtime during busy periods to support business requirements. This may include evening and weekend working. Benefits: 20 days holiday plus Bank Holidays Pension PPE and workwear provided
