South West Electrics are offering an exciting opportunity to join their team as a Business Administrator apprentice! Gain the knowledge, skills and behaviours to kickstart your career.

Wage: £16,640 for your first year, then could increase depending on your age. National Minimum Wage rate for apprentices.

Hours:

Monday to Friday, between 8.00am - 4.30pm – 40 hours a week.

Duration: 1 year (until Sunday 4 October 2026).

Work

Most of your apprenticeship is spent working. You’ll learn on the job by getting hands‑on experience.

Training

Apprenticeships include time away from working for specialist training. You’ll study to gain professional knowledge and skills.

  • Skilled in the use of multiple IT packages and systems relevant to the organisation – writing letters or emails, creating proposals, performing financial processes, recording and analysing data.
  • Produces accurate records and documents – emails, letters, files, payments, reports and proposals – and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Exercises proactivity and good judgement, making effective decisions and seeking advice when appropriate.
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships within their own team and across the organisation.
  • Demonstrates good communication skills across multiple channels.
  • Completes tasks to a high standard, continuously improving work and resolving challenges.
  • Manages priorities, time and resources, organising meetings and events, taking minutes and action logs, and handling logistics.
  • Uses relevant project management principles and tools to scope, plan, monitor and report, and leads projects when required.
  • Works towards a Level 3 Apprenticeship Standard in Business Administrator.
  • Apprenticeship consists of a mixture of off-the-job training and on-the-job mentoring and development within the workplace.
  • Expected to attend Cornwall College, St Austell, on a fortnightly basis, with additional attendance as required.
Requirements
  • GCSE in Maths (grade 4/C)
  • Share if you have other relevant qualifications and industry experience; the apprenticeship can be adjusted to reflect what you already know.
