Job Overview

Are you kind, creative and passionate about early years? We are looking for a dedicated, motivated, caring individual with a great sense of humour, to join our team. This is a 12 month maternity position starting in February (there may be the possibility of a permanent position).

Plan and deliver age‑appropriate educational activities that promote cognitive, social, and emotional development. Respond to children’s needs and interests, extending children’s learning through play. Help to provide a creative and engaging learning environment for all children, contributing to and implementing the curriculum. Be a proactive member of the team, providing a safe, stimulating, and inclusive environment. Carry out the role of the key person and implement the daily routines of the Pre‑School.

Observe children during play and link those observations to the EYFS. Promote good practice and be a reflective practitioner. Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure a collaborative approach to childcare. Maintain and promote a positive image of the Pre‑School to children, parents and visitors. Support the Pre‑School’s management team to deliver high‑quality care and education in line with the setting’s policies and procedures.

Maintain accurate records of children’s progress and daily routines. Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all children in accordance with regulatory standards.

• A relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
• 2 years proven experience working with children in a nursery or early childhood setting
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to engage confidently with children, parents, and team members
• A good knowledge of the EYFS and a commitment to ongoing training and development
• Be a good team player with flexibility and initiative
• Ability to organise activities that stimulate learning and development
• Compassionate nature with a genuine passion for working with young children

Job Types: Full‑time, Temporary
Contract length: 12 months
Pay:
From 12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 32.5 per week
