The Service & Team
The SEND Support Service is a friendly, innovative, multi-agency team which has children and young people at the centre of everything we do. We work with children and young people from 0-25 years who have a wide range of Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND). We work with educational settings in a range of different ways to support our learners to grow and develop;
some of the teams work with individuals.
We place a high value on in-house and external CPD focused on specialisms and broader SEND issues.
The roleThis post is a fixed term (12 month) full-time contract (37 hours per week) for an enthusiastic, qualified and experienced teacher. The main focus of the work is eating disorders and body dysmorphia and it will largely be based in the East and Mid areas of the county although travel to other areas may be necessary.
You will work alongside the existing SEND Advisor for SEMH, delivering high quality training packages and strategic advice to educational settings. You will work with a wide range of professionals from a number of different agencies including health and social care. As the role is to strengthen specific SEMH strategies and provision at a whole-setting level, work with individuals will not be part of the position.
As the SEND Advisors are part of the wider SEND Support Services, you would be expected to be part of our programme of training on broader SEND issues such as EHC Needs Assessments or SENDCo induction.
This is a public/customer-facing role, where the statutory English language requirement for public sector workers applies.
This position will be subject to an enhanced criminal record disclosure check.
Working PatternThis is a 37 hours per week role (full-time), Monday to Friday. It is a fixed term (12 month) contract.
