Hours: Monday to Friday, 09:00–17:30, with planned out-of-hours work, flexible overtime, travel, and participation in the on-call rota.
Role OverviewThe Regional Team Lead is a senior field engineering role responsible for delivering exceptional service across the VFAST network while acting as the regional technical lead for engineering activities.
The role combines hands-on engineering with leadership responsibilities, ensuring installations, maintenance, fault resolution and infrastructure upgrades are delivered safely, consistently and to our engineering standards.
Working closely with the other Engineering Lead, Service Delivery, Projects, Network Engineering and Commercial teams, the Regional Team Lead will provide technical guidance, mentor engineers, maintain quality standards, and help drive continuous improvement across the regional engineering operation.

- Provide day-to-day technical guidance and support to regional engineers.
- Escalate technical, operational and customer risks where appropriate.
- Support engineering resource planning alongside
Service Delivery. - Deliver installations, maintenance, upgrades andfault resolution across VFAST infrastructure.
- Undertake complex engineering activities where senior technical knowledge is required.
- Support infrastructure expansion, park upgrade sand network improvement projects.
- Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with company standards.
- Carry out regular quality inspections of completed engineering work.
- Ensure installations comply with company build standards, documentation and H&S requirements.
- Identify recurring quality issues and implement corrective actions.
- Promote a culture of continual improvement and engineering excellence.
- Support post-installation reviews and lessons learned activities.
- Mentor and coach new and existing engineers.
- Support onboarding of new starters.
- Deliver practical field-based technical coaching.
- Assist with competency assessments and skills development.
- Promote continuous learning and professional development across the regional team.
- Ensure accurate completion of engineering documentation and job records.
- Support stock control and equipment management.
- Assist in developing and improving engineeringprocesses and working practices.
- Promote consistency across all regional engineering activities.
- Contribute to regional performance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead by example in maintaining the highest standards of Health & Safety.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies andsafe systems of work.
- Carry out risk assessments where required.
- Report hazards, incidents and near misses promptly.
- Promote safe working practices across the regional team.
- Act as the link between Field Engineering,Service Delivery, Projects and Network Engineering.
- Support customer communications where technical input is required.
- Assist Project Managers with surveys, planning and technical delivery.
- Work collaboratively with internal teams to improve service delivery.
- Participate in the company on-call rota.
- Be available for planned out-of-hours engineering works.
- Work flexible overtime where operational requirements dictate.
- Travel extensively throughout their assigned region and nationally where required.
- Occasionally stay overnight when supporting major projects or business requirements.
- Strong experience within ISP, wireless networking or telecommunications engineering.
- Excellent understanding of WiMAX, wireless broadband and networking technologies.
- Experience installing and maintaining Ubiquitiand Mikro Tik infrastructure.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior engineers.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Fibre optic installation and testing experience.
- Network routing knowledge.
- Experience with GPON and Ethernet technologies.
