Salary: £25,760 – £27,476 per year, pro rata.

Job overviewWe’re looking for a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to join our Early Intervention in Psychosis (EIP) team on a 12‑month maternity cover. This role involves working alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team to help people experiencing a first episode of psychosis, or at risk of developing psychosis, on their recovery journey.
You’ll provide practical and emotional support, working 1:1 and in groups, helping people build confidence, connect with their community, and achieve goals that matter to them.
Key responsibilities- Monitor health needs through observations and report changes to the care co‑ordinator so that the care plan and/or risk plan can be kept fully up to date; be aware of fluctuations in needs.
- Monitor basic health (e.g. diet, hygiene and sleep) and assist in addressing identified needs.
- Work with service users and their carers to achieve the objectives of the care plan.
- Encourage social/physical activities as appropriate to the service users’ needs.
- NVQ3 in healthcare or equivalent qualification or experience.
- Experience working with clients with substance misuse issues.
- Experience working with clients who have social needs and sound working knowledge of the various agencies, such as housing and benefits.
- Training to Level 2 in Safeguarding Children & Young People: roles and competencies for Health Care Staff.
- Working with clients with a range of vulnerabilities, mental health, substance misuse, learning disability.
- Good listening skills and ability to deal with complex information that the service user and care co‑ordinator will share with them.
- Ability to communicate with a wide range of professionals from various settings.
- Experience working within a community setting in either the statutory or voluntary sector.
