We are looking for an enthusiastic, adaptable individual to join our podiatry team in Cornwall, passionate about providing clinical excellence. As a podiatry support worker you will assist podiatrists in clinics, mainly in specialised care such as wound management and nail surgery. The role encompasses enabling the team to provide a calm, safe and friendly environment for patients. This is a 1‑year fixed‑term contract to cover maternity leave.
1 post of 15 hours a week is available, primarily covering Truro and Camborne, with support at other sites required.
Additional duties include promoting foot health advice to patients, carers, groups and other interested parties, and participating in audits of service standards.
Main duties of the jobThis position is open only to people who already work for the NHS in Cornwall or the Isles of Scilly. The following organisations are eligible:

Tasks may include:
- General social interaction with patients, talking, observing and escalating concerns
- Wiping down equipment used between patients
- Meet and greet duties
- Unpacking weekly stock orders and ensuring stock is rotated and in date
- Carrying out delegated duties under the supervision of trained and experienced staff
- Reporting concerns or issues to senior staff in charge
- Making or receiving telephone calls to admin, patients, patients’ carers or GP surgeries
- Good standard of education including Maths and English
- Level 2 qualification or relevant experience
- Experience of working in a care setting
- Aware of Health and Safety legislation
- Awareness of COSHH
- Basic keyboard skills
- Good team worker
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
- Salary £25,272 pro‑rata yearly
