Female Support Worker in Bodmin
We are seeking a compassionate and proactive female Support Worker to assist a young woman with a spinal cord injury who leads a vibrant, creative life.
Our client is passionate about art and mouth painting, enjoys attending craft fairs and community events, and values maintaining her independence and connection with others.
You will be supporting her with day-to-day living and community activities helping her pursue her passions and live life to the fullest.
She shares her home with her husband, two friendly dogs, and a cat, so applicants should be comfortable in a pet‑friendly environment.

Part Time / Full Time- Part time: 24 hours working 2 day shifts per week
- Full time: 36 hours working 3 waking night shifts per week (please note you will need to complete your training and shadows working day shifts)

Shifts:
08:00-20:00 - Waking Night Shift: 20:00-08:00
Bank Holidays and weekend work will form part of the rota.
Pay Rates- £15.00 per hour weekday day rate
- £16.00 per hour weekday waking night rate
- £108.00 per night for sleepovers
- Double time for Bank Holidays
- Hourly rates are paid £1.00 per hour less during probationary period
- Providing personal and respiratory care
- Supporting with daily living tasks and household duties
- Assisting with community outings and occasional holidays
- A positive, caring and proactive approach
- Previous experience in a care or support role
- Flexible, reliable and committed
- Comfortable working around pets
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to drive an adapted vehicle
- Experience of working with spinal cord injuries

:
To support your client with their day‑to‑day living, promoting their independence and supporting them to live a fulfilled life ensuring their safety and wellbeing at all times.
Internal and Management
:
This role will report to the Registered Manager
- Provide practical support for your client and their family, such as helping with personal care, household tasks and paperwork
- Assist and encourage your client to engage in everyday home, social, leisure and work activities, according to the individual's choice
- Support and monitor your client's healthcare needs, including administering medication and other clinical tasks
- Help your clients to access community facilities and be included in community groups, if they so wish
- Understand their communication needs and adapt your own communication style accordingly
- Keep accurate, up to date records of all the care you provide
- Work positively with other professionals, such as doctors and therapists, to ensure consistency of support
- Maintain confidentiality and discretion at all times
- Participate in learning and development opportunities as required

As a term of employment, you may be required to undertake other duties and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required. This forms part of your employment contract.
