  • Competitive Pay. Starting rate of £12.50 per hour, with an enhanced rate of £15.63 per hour for hours worked between 20:00 and 06:00 and for any hours over 37.5 per week. Our pay banding system also allows opportunities to increase your earnings further as you progress through training and competency sign-offs.

  • Hours and Days of Work. 12:30 to 21:00, with two 30-minute unpaid breaks, Monday to Friday.

  • Training and Development. Full training is provided. After your probationary period, you will achieve Food Safety Level 2 and Health & Safety Level 2 qualifications. As your skills develop, you’ll gain greater responsibility and earning potential.

The Role

As a Production Operative in Meat / Mix Prep, you will be responsible for preparing the meat to a high standard ready for our high-quality mixes while ensuring safety, accuracy, and efficiency at all times.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Meat Preparation — Preparing, handling, and processing meat ingredients in line with specifications, food safety standards, and production plans. This will be your main duty and the core focus of the role.

  • Machine Setup — Setting up scales and mixers at the start of each shift to ensure production can begin smoothly and safely.

  • Decanting Ingredients — Preparing and organising ingredients in the required quantities to ensure colleagues in Mix Prep and production lines are always fully supplied.

  • Weighing Ingredients — Accurately weighing ingredients against bespoke recipes for all product fillings.

  • Maintaining Traceability — Ensuring full product safety and traceability by correctly displaying and recording batch numbers for raw ingredients and completed mixes.

  • Supplying Production Lines — Maintaining a consistent supply of mixes and product to production lines throughout your shift.

  • Mixer Operation — Operating mixers to ensure every mix has an even distribution of ingredients and meets our quality standards.

  • Glaze Preparation — Preparing glaze to ensure a consistent supply for pastry products, delivering an even and high-quality finish once baked.

  • Storage of product — Correct storage of all product / mix in line with food safety regulations.

  • Waste Management — Minimising waste and ensuring all waste is handled and disposed of correctly to maintain a clean and efficient work environment.

Please note:

This is a physically demanding role involving regular lifting of up to 25kg and standing for the majority of the shift.
