Overview

Kepak is a global food company serving international retailers and food service names with prime cuts of meat, on-trend food concepts and ready-for-market convenience foods. Kepak St. Merryn in Bodmin combines beef and lamb processing and packing facilities. We offer beef products ranging from retail ready cuts for butcher counters to branded packaged meat, raised on open pastures and sourced from local farmers.

This is a full-time permanent position starting at 6.30am with a flexible finish and an hourly salary of £12.75. You will be working within the slaughtering area performing precision functions involving the preparation of meat, including specialized slaughtering tasks and cutting standard or premium cuts for marketing. The role involves the slaughter and preparation of animals for human consumption. Your own transport is required due to location and transport links to Bodmin.

• Operate and maintain various machinery and equipment necessary for the production process.
• Monitor and maintain product quality standards throughout the production line.
• Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
• Conduct regular inspections of machinery and promptly report any issues or malfunctions.
• Assist in the packaging and labeling of finished products according to company standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to uphold high levels of hygiene and quality.
• Be able to lift weights and move around the factory floor for the shift duration.
• Familiarize yourself with the daily production plan and work as part of the team to set up the line, complete checks, and ensure materials are ready to use.
• Assist with other duties as assigned by the direct line Supervisor.

• Previous experience in a similar role within the food production industry is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically under pressure.

• Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects as required.
