An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated

Band 7 Ward Manager to lead our Dementia and Older People's Mental Health inpatient ward. This fixed term/secondment post offers the opportunity to further develop your leadership skills while making a significant difference to the lives of older people experiencing mental health difficulties.

As Ward Manager, you will provide visible clinical and operational leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, safe and person-centred care. You will lead a dedicated multidisciplinary team, promoting a positive ward culture that supports recovery, dignity, and therapeutic engagement for patients and their families.

The successful candidate will be an experienced nurse with excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. You will demonstrate a commitment to service improvement, staff development, and maintaining the highest standards of patient care.

Main duties of the jobKey Responsibilities Provide effective clinical and operational leadership for the ward.

Ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality care and positive patient outcomes.

Lead, support and develop the multidisciplinary team.

Manage ward resources effectively, including workforce planning and budgetary responsibilities.

Promote and implement quality improvement initiatives.

Maintain compliance with clinical governance, safeguarding, and health and safety requirements.

Work collaboratively with families, carers, community teams and partner agencies. We Are Looking For Someone Who:
Is a Registered Mental Health Nurse with current NMC registration.

Has significant post-registration experience working within Older People's Mental Health and/or Dementia Services.

Demonstrates strong leadership and people management skills.

Has experience of managing complex clinical situations and risk.

Is passionate about delivering compassionate, person-centred care.

Is committed to supporting staff wellbeing, learning and development.

This is an excellent opportunity for a senior clinician seeking to broaden their leadership experience and contribute to the ongoing development of Dementia and Older People's Mental Health Services.
