Comments: Percussion Specialist (Part‑time)

Support percussion instruction for percussion students. This position will primarily support percussion instruction during academic hours with occasional support for after‑school rehearsals, performances, and events. Support the goals of the assigned campus/department and perform routine assigned tasks under the direction and supervision of the professional staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide percussion instruction to middle and high school students.
  • Assist in developing skills in concert and marching percussion.
  • Collaborate with band directors to align, plan, and implement percussion curriculum.
  • Maintain and manage percussion equipment.
  • Support extracurricular performances and events as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in all areas of percussion.
  • Experience teaching percussion, preferably at the secondary level.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift/move equipment as needed (up to 50 lbs).
Minimum Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent recognized by the Texas Education Agency.
  • Must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non‑refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the candidate.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Skill in communicating effectively with diverse groups of individuals utilizing tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to establish and maintain solid service relations with all staff, students, and administration.
  • Knowledge of proper campus procedures and etiquette.
  • Skill in coaching, accompanying, instruction, and tutoring etc. to meet the requirements of the position.
  • Knowledge of general office equipment.
Essential Functions /

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality concerning all students and staff.
  • Complete required forms.
  • Perform duties assigned by District Staff.
  • Adhere to District policies and procedures.
  • Attendance and punctuality is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
