Position Summary:
Assist the medical provider with physical examinations, carry out nursing treatments and perform other health‑care procedures according to provider’s orders. Develop working knowledge of clinic policies and procedures. Establish good public and working relationships.

Job Duties
- Provide a standard of excellence in customer service for patients and other customers.
- Maintain a timely flow of patient care and preserve patient privacy according to HIPAA requirements.
- Prepare patients for examination by the provider and assist with walking, standing, or sitting if needed.
- Prepare equipment and supplies to assist the medical provider in the treatment and testing of patients.
- Perform or assist with procedures: EKGs, Holter monitors, stress tests, PFT, dABI, wound care, immunizations, phlebotomy, and other clinical tasks.
- Record vital signs, review medications, and enter data into the EMR.
- Assist with medication administration, immunizations, and maintain inventory of supplies.
- Provide CPR and other emergency care as required.
- Adhere to all Health Texas policies, HIPAA, OSHA, and universal precautions.
- Perform laboratory quality controls and update control logs.
- Assist with administrative tasks, including message relay and documentation.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
One year of clinical medical assistant experience or completion of an externship within a Health Texas clinic.
Education- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Successful completion of a recognized Medical Assistant Certification program preferred.
- CPR certification is required.
- Phlebotomy and/or Venipuncture certification may be required.
- Detail‑oriented, positive self‑starter who enjoys serving patients.
- Skilled with computer, fax machine, copier, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Knowledge of basic medical terminology and EMR proficiency.
- Ability to multitask in a stressful environment and communicate respectfully.
- Ability to work well with clinical staff and provide quality patient care.
- Clinic hours vary;
Associates rotate 8‑hour shifts to meet business needs. - Required travel to other sites for training and patient needs.
Physical Requirements
- Clinic environment with exposure to infectious diseases, bodily fluids, and medications.
- Must be able to talk, hear, and perform essential functions.
- Requires manual dexterity, standing, stooping, reaching, kneeling, crouching, bending, walking, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- May assist in lifting patients.
