Manufacturing Technician

Albany Engineered Composites (AEC) designs, develops, and manufactures advanced composite components in order to help our customers push the frontiers of innovation. Our core strength is our ability to produce highly tailored, complex composite components. With our unique blend of products – including 3D woven structures, traditional and non‑traditional 2D composite structures, and discrete through‑thickness reinforcement technologies, to name a few – AEC is able to produce composite components and products which meet performance and cost specifications often beyond the reach of metallic or conventional laminated composites.

Supports in all aspects regarding Safety, Quality, Delivery, & Cost (SQDC) of the assigned production Value Stream(s).

• Put safety first at all times; never compromise on safety for other objectives. Responsible for health and safety of yourself and coworkers.
• Perform manufacturing operations within a carbon fiber composite site.
• Accurately and efficiently set up equipment per engineering instructions.
• Execute daily start‑up activities.
• Accurately complete/create documentation associated with production processes.
• Maintain a safe workspace/environment.

Day, 1st Shift Weekdays

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering instructions.

Stooping, crouching, walking, pulling, light lifting (up to 25 pounds), grasping, hearing, visual acuity, kneeling, reaching, pushing, talking, standing, fingering and climbing.

Indoor production environment, adequate lighting and comfortable temperatures. Occasional exposure to moderate noise and machinery with mechanical moving parts. Ability to work 24/7 schedule and be available as business situations require, overtime dependent on business need.

• Frequently positions sheets of material onto molds or manually sands parts.
• Frequent repetitive hand movements, use of hand tools – pliers, sanders, scissors, etc.
• Frequently remain in a stationary position up to 75% of the time.
• Must be able to detect and recognize visual differences between materials or parts.
• Frequently moves molds and parts >25 lbs between work tables and carts.
