NIGHT SHIFT:
Monday - Thursday, 5:30 pm - 4:30 am, 1-hour lunch.
Job Summary:
Receive, store and pull product from warehouse and trailers, maintain organization of product in the warehouse and assist with the proper management of inventory.
Job Responsibilities:- Locates and stages materials needed for daily production runs.
- Frequently enters and exits trailers and other storage areas to locate, move, and position materials needed for production.
- Uses handheld scanner to complete system transactions and maintain an updated account of onsite stock and inventory cycle counts.
- Communicates any inventory count or stock discrepancies to the appropriate supervisor.
- Notifies supervisors of any low or excessive inventory quantities.
- Frequently utilizes hand trucks and forklifts in confined and high-traffic areas to move materials.
- Ensures that all materials are tagged appropriately, including preparing tags and numbers for pallets that are missing information, when needed.
- Properly stores production materials such as boxes and bags in the warehouse after they have been received.
- Ensures that materials are maintained in proper locations and are stacked properly.
- Ensures that all performance and safety standards are met at the storage facility, including proper temperature controls, cleaning guidelines, and proper procedures for transferring and storing product.
- Maintains familiarity with Shipping and Receiving processes in order to assist when needed, such as verifying received item descriptions and quantities against purchase orders.
- Occasionally assists with picking and transferring raw product to the production area when needed.
- Notifies appropriate personnel of any maintenance issues involving assigned equipment.
- Notifies appropriate personnel of any food safety concerns or damage to the product.
- All staff has the authority to place on hold any products and/or equipment that do not meet Texas Star Nut and Food Co., Inc. food safety standards.
- Must be willing to assist with other duties as assigned.
- Must be punctual and dependable.
- Must be able to work independently and with a team.
- Able to perform basic mathematics operations and acquire proficiency in our production software applications.
- Must possess basic MS Office skills, including knowledge of Excel.
- Must possess basic knowledge of warehouse organization and material flows.
- Must be able to comply with all safety and cleanliness requirements.
Required:
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced, non-climate-controlled environments which include exposure to seasonal cold and hot weather.
- Ability to climb ladders/steps, work on platforms, and step into and out of trailers on a frequent basis. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, and climbing.
- Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack.
