AREA PROCESS MANAGER – UTILITIES/POWERPay Range: $121,100 - $144,300

- Coordinate maintenance and operational activities for two power boilers, three turbine generators, mill water supply, compressed air system, bark system, and waste treatment plant.
- Champion safety initiatives, commit to the principles of ‘Safety Above All Else’, and act as a role model for the department.
- Understand environmental impacts of production processes and ensure continuous compliance, maintaining reliable compliance systems.
- Maintain a participative and collaborative style, working effectively as a team player within Utilities and millwide.
- Proactively manage operations, anticipating mill‑impacting issues and collaborating with other business units to balance operations.
- Develop comprehensive knowledge of all department equipment, systems, and material balances.
- Lead capital, maintenance, and cost‑reduction projects related to equipment or processes in the area.
- Ensure compliance with company policy manuals for operations and maintenance, actively closing identified gaps.
- Work effectively in a manufacturing‑systems based environment, utilizing KPIs, SOPs, EOPs, TCCs, and other operational work system elements.
- Direct maintenance priorities for day‑to‑day and outage work with the OMC and IPOC; support the Manufacturing Work System and other reliability processes.
- Maintain strong organizational skills, manage multiple tasks, and plan and execute daily, weekly, and outage schedules.
- Engage the team to achieve individual, department, mill, and company goals, fostering ownership and valuing crew contributions.
- Elicit and realize challenging budgets and goals to deliver year‑over‑year savings; lead mill cost‑reduction initiatives.
- Focus on results by setting clear expectations and maintaining accountability within the area.
- Facilitate crew skill development, reducing skill/knowledge gaps and approving training plans aligned with department needs.
- Display initiative by completing tasks timely and self‑motivating.
- Proven leadership in a manufacturing environment with strong safety practice knowledge.
- 5+ years’ experience in pulp and paper.
- High integrity/ethics, energy, and the ability to influence and develop others.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, communicating with groups and individuals at all levels; ability to drive change.
- Ability to lead and continuously improve team performance toward injury‑free, quality products, and world‑class productivity.
- Effective oral and written communication, providing constructive feedback and coaching; ability to take corrective measures as appropriate.
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Office and SAP.
- College degree preferred.
- Excellent organizing, planning, priority setting, and time‑management skills; adaptability to sudden changes.
- Ability to facilitate problem‑solving or conflict‑resolution processes.
