Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (SPFT) is recruiting a Consultant Psychiatrist to join our General Adult services within the Arun Neighbourhood Mental Health Team, based in Bognor Regis.
This is a pivotal senior medical leadership role within a well-established, consultant-led community mental health service, offering the opportunity to shape care pathways, influence service development and deliver high-quality, person-centred care.
About the roleYou will work within the Bognor Regis assessment and treatment team, aligned with local GP practices and supported by another Consultant Psychiatrist and a full-time Specialty Doctor.
You’ll be part of a wider Coastal West Sussex consultant network spanning Chichester, Worthing and Adur, with strong links to inpatient services, crisis and home treatment teams, PICU provision and enhanced community rehabilitation services.
As Consultant Psychiatrist, you will provide specialist psychiatric assessment and treatment, hold Responsible Clinician duties, supervise junior doctors, support the wider MDT and work closely with inpatient and partner services to ensure continuity of care.
Key responsibilities include- Specialist psychiatric assessment and evidence-based treatment
- Responsible Clinician duties, including CTOs and tribunals
- Clinical supervision and leadership within the MDT
- Close liaison with inpatient, crisis, forensic and partner services
- Contribution to service development, quality improvement and teaching
- £45,000 recruitment & retention premium (£15k on appointment, £10k at 12, 24 and 36 months – subject to T&Cs)
