About the Student

• They have taken their GCSE English exam twice and achieved a grade 2.

• They are incredibly literal in his understanding and struggles to interpret what exam questions are asking.

• In their last exam, they missed the 40-mark extended writing question.

• They require clear, structured, and patient support to help them build confidence and exam technique.

• Must have 6 month experience working in a UK based education setting.

• Ability to break down exam questions into manageable steps and teach strategies for understanding what is being asked.

• Strong communication skills, with a focus on literal and explicit instruction.

• In-person tuition only.

• When: Every Tuesday, 1 hour (preferably 10am-11am, but flexible).

• Where: In-person sessions (location details to be provided once cleared for work).

• Focus: GCSE English (AQA), exam technique, comprehension, and extended writing practice.

• A tutor with a background in SEN teaching or specialist tutoring.

• Patient, empathetic, and able to adapt teaching methods to suit the students learning style.

• Committed to helping them progress towards achieving a pass grade in their GCSE English.

• Able to start right away !
