The School of Sport, Science and Engineering is looking for a Senior Lecturer in Electrical and Electronic Engineering. The successful candidate will work within the team to strengthen the distinctiveness of the University’s student experience, offering high‑quality, personalised, accessible and aspirational learning. We aim to equip our graduates with the skills necessary to succeed in the workplace upon graduation and throughout their professional careers.
As such, we focus not only on technical knowledge but also on vital transferable skills and professional practices.
We are a growing department, founded in 2016, providing a fantastic opportunity for a proactive, enthusiastic academic to help shape the future of Engineering at the University of Chichester by developing and delivering high‑quality teaching and building a successful research area. The Engineering department offers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in electrical and electronic engineering, mechanical engineering and computer science, including a substantial degree‑apprenticeship provision.
Working with the Engineering, Computing and Maths staff team and students, you will, among other activities, make a key contribution to designing, developing and delivering new and existing undergraduate, post‑graduate and degree‑apprenticeship programmes. You will also contribute to our vibrant research culture and excellent student learning experience. The postholder will ordinarily be expected to undertake programme‑co‑ordinator duties and responsibilities.
About youWe are particularly looking for applicants with research interest and experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Control Engineering
- Communication systems and networks
- Mechatronics
- Instrumentation
Your teaching will be informed by a combination of practical experience and/or research to support high‑quality learning and teaching, experience of using Virtual Learning Environments (VLEs), and the use of technologies to enhance the learning, assessment of and feedback to our students.

You’ll need to demonstrate an ability to work effectively and positively within a small academic team, exhibit excellent teaching methods, and develop a variety of student‑centred, inclusive and flexible approaches.
