Job Description & How to Apply Below
Are you an experienced Senior Support Worker looking for a role where you can take on more responsibility, support your colleagues and make a real difference to young people's lives?

We're looking for a Team Leader to oversee day-to-day practice across three supported accommodation homes in Bognor Regis and Worthing, supporting young people aged 16–18 as they prepare for independent living.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on but is ready to move into a leadership role, with more responsibility for staff, standards and the smooth running of the service.

You'll work closely with the Deputy Manager, helping to keep the team organised, making sure tasks are followed through and ensuring young people receive consistent, high-quality support.

What's on offer?

 * £37,000 salary

* Monday to Friday working hours, 9am–5pm, with some flexibility

* The opportunity to move away from a predominantly shift-based role and develop your leadership experience

* A varied position covering staff support, service coordination and young people's development

* The chance to contribute to a growing service and help improve consistency across three homes

* Training and development opportunities to support your progression towards Deputy Manager and other management roles

* Bonus opportunities linked to achieving the equivalent of Good or Outstanding Ofsted ratings, subject to the relevant scheme criteria

What will you be doing?

You'll be a key point of contact for Senior Support Workers and Support Workers across the three homes, helping them stay on track and providing guidance when needed.

Your responsibilities will include:

* Coordinating the day-to-day work of the team, delegating tasks and making sure they're completed to the expected standard.

* Supporting Senior Support Workers to lead their shifts and maintain consistent practice.

* Providing guidance and constructive feedback to colleagues, helping them develop and addressing concerns when they arise.

* Ensuring records, incident reports, support plans and risk assessments are completed accurately and on time.

* Helping maintain safe, welcoming homes and ensuring health and safety checks and household tasks are completed.

* Supporting staff with safeguarding concerns, incidents and challenging situations, escalating issues to management when necessary.

* Monitoring young people's progress and helping staff support them to build confidence, develop life skills and work towards independence.

* Identifying training needs, supporting new staff with their induction and contributing to quality checks and Ofsted preparation.

* Communicating effectively with the Deputy Manager to ensure outstanding actions, staffing issues and concerns are followed up.

You'll also provide direct support when needed and take part in the on-call rota.

What we're looking for

You'll ideally be an experienced Senior Support Worker, or someone in a similar position, who is ready to take that next step.

We're looking for someone who:

* Has experience supporting young people, ideally within supported accommodation, residential childcare or a similar setting.

* Is confident guiding colleagues, delegating work and ensuring agreed tasks are completed.

* Is organised and can manage competing priorities across more than one home.

* Understands safeguarding, professional boundaries, risk management and trauma-informed support.

* Can give clear, constructive feedback and address issues professionally.

* Is calm under pressure, practical and confident making decisions within their responsibilities.

* Knows when to take ownership of a problem and when to escalate it to management.

* Is committed to helping young people develop the skills and confidence they need for adulthood.

* Holds a full driving licence and has access to their own vehicle, as travel between the homes is essential.

* Relevant qualifications in health and social care or leadership would be beneficial, as would experience with staff training, quality assurance and Ofsted preparation.

Above all, you'll need to strike the right balance between being approachable and supportive while ensuring standards are maintained and people are accountable for their work.

Interested?

If you're ready to take on more responsibility, enjoy helping a team perform at its best and want to make a genuine difference to young people, we'd love to hear from you.
