As the Product Leader, you will champion Goodyear’s core value of SAFETY by ensuring that all actions, decisions, and operational practices support a “Zero Accident – Absolute Safety” culture across the organization. This role requires strong technical expertise and functional leadership to drive excellence in product quality, quality systems integrity, process capability, waste reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring alignment with team and organizational goals.
You will lead and support the implementation and industrialization of new products and processes while proactively addressing quality and technical challenges to achieve operational excellence. Success in this role depends on close collaboration within a cross‑functional team environment, working in partnership with the People Leader, Process Specialist, and Reliability Specialist to consistently deliver team KPIs and business objectives.
- Develop, improve, and maintain quality‑related documentation, including Control Plans, FMEA, and process capability studies.
- Support product industrialization initiatives and the continuous improvement of product specifications to ensure operational and customer requirements are consistently met.
- Drive process capability improvement activities and lead initiatives that support KPI achievement and overall manufacturing excellence.
- Enhance customer satisfaction for products and services through strong collaboration with internal customers and the execution of layered audits.
- Assist in resolving technical issues by applying scientific problem‑solving methodologies while ensuring compliance with quality standards, procedures, and process guidelines.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field.
- Possess at least 5 years of manufacturing experience in plant quality and technology, including 2–3 years of leadership or management experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working in a unionized environment and familiarity with Continuous Improvement, Zero Loss concepts, Plant Optimization, Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), and Lean manufacturing principles.
- Solid understanding of statistical analysis and its application in manufacturing and quality systems.
- Demonstrated strong customer focus, effectively supporting both internal and external customers.
- Strong background in scheduling, quality, safety, and project management within manufacturing operations.
- Exhibits strong leadership and coaching capabilities, with a servant‑leadership mindset that promotes collaboration, accountability, and team development.
- Applies strong problem‑solving skills and a continuous improvement mentality to address operational and technical challenges effectively.
