Overview
High Voltage Electrical Engineer role on site in Bohemia, NY. Minimum of four years current experience and proven high proficiency in working with CANbus, VFD’s, PLC troubleshooting, Servo Drives and DC Drives, scripting languages. AutoCAD and MS Dynamics experience required, imaging equipment and robotics preferred. High voltage experience mandatory.
Base Pay Range$70,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr
Responsibilities- Collaborate with Mechanical, System Engineering teams to design electro‑mechanical/material handling systems.
- Optimize actuators, robotics, manipulators.
- Install, program and commission control systems.
- Write PLC programs and troubleshoot control systems.
- Wire and configure electrical for new and existing inspection systems.
- Review drawings for compliance with internal guidelines, quality standards, national codes.
- Create, revise, finalize BOMs.
- Work with Production, Design & Installation teams to revise drawings and generate final as‑built packages.
- Support technical writing and project management teams with system manuals and customer documentation.
- Test, troubleshoot and debug electrical components and systems in‑house and at customer locations.
- Collaborate with engineering teams (mechanical, electrical, software, imaging) to resolve customer problems.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, federal Electrical standards.
- Potential travel to customer sites or other company locations worldwide (≈20%).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Three to five years of electrical electro‑mechanical system design experience.
- Proficient AutoCAD skills.
- Experience generating BOMs within an MRP or ERP system, preferably MS Dynamics.
- Robotics programming highly preferred.
- Previous experience troubleshooting electrical circuits.
- Expansive knowledge of electrical circuitry.
- Working knowledge of established electrical safety work protocols and practices and ability to read electrical diagrams.
- Experience with test equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes.
- Knowledge of control programming environments or other scripting languages such as RSLogix, VB.
- Highly versed in integration of DC Drives, VFD’s, Servo Drives, PLC’s and PC based control systems.
- Working knowledge of CANbus, Controller Area Network (CAN) for real‑time control system applications and high proficiency with motor drives, PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens) and PC based control systems.
- Working knowledge of Pneumatic Actuator Control and Relay Logic.
- Must be a US Citizen or US Permanent resident legally authorized to work in the US; background check and pre‑employment drug test required.
- Will need to successfully pass a drug test and present a clean and valid driver’s license.
- Established understanding and experience working with high voltage power levels (>1 kW).
- Previous experience wiring and installing electrical panels and integrating electro‑mechanical components into a system.
