Our client is a 24‑hour specialty and emergency hospital seeking a full‑time Emergency Veterinarian in Bohemia, NY. The hospital provides advanced emergency and specialty care, serving the Long Island community with a strong reputation for excellence and collaboration across disciplines.
Working Hours / RotaThe hospital is open 24/7, 365 days a year. This is a full‑time position with flexibility to work day or overnight shifts, depending on preference and availability. Weekend and holiday coverage is required as part of the emergency team’s schedule.
Role Description & ResponsibilitiesThe Emergency Veterinarian manages a wide range of urgent and critical cases, working closely with specialists in surgery, internal medicine, cardiology, neurology and dermatology.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing high‑quality emergency care
- Performing diagnostic evaluations and stabilizing critical patients
- Collaborating with specialty services to ensure comprehensive treatment
All experience levels are considered; new graduates are welcome with mentorship opportunities available.
Practice DetailsThe facility is state‑of‑the‑art, equipped with ultrasound, in‑house laboratories, MRI, CT scan, fluoroscopy and a fully equipped rehabilitation department. The practice fosters a supportive and collaborative culture and encourages professional growth and continuing education.
TeamCurrently six Emergency DVMs, along with board‑certified specialists and highly skilled support staff. The environment emphasizes teamwork, mentorship and collaboration across all departments.
Candidate Requirements- Must hold the relevant degree(s) and qualifications to work as a veterinarian in the USA.
- Must hold, be in the process of, or be able to obtain, a state license for the state in which they are applying.
- Must have the right to work in the USA, or be able to obtain the required visa.
Salary up to $160,000 annually. Additional benefits:
