Micron Technology is seeking driven and thorough Year‑End Failure Analysis Lab SEM & ETM Process Technicians. In this role, you will perform inline targeting procedures using SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope) and ETM tools (including Exsolve, TEM Link, and Metrios) to capture high‑quality images. These procedures will follow either customized customer instructions or standardized protocols. As a key contributor to the world’s leading memory and storage solutions provider, you will be at the forefront of innovation.
Responsibilities- Performs SEM analysis requests following detailed instructions, applying basic cross‑sectioning techniques for sample preparation and ETM analysis.
- Prioritizes SEM and ETM tasks based on the current request queue, coordinating with supervisors to adjust priorities when necessary.
- Collaboration with customers, peers, and supervisors to clarify instructions and ensure accurate, targeted results.
- Completes analysis requests by interpreting collected data and providing well‑supported conclusions.
- Certified and trained to operate all necessary lab equipment for SEM and ETM analysis, while strictly adhering to safety protocols.
- Proactively identifies and reports minor equipment issues to prevent major disruptions, supporting overall lab efficiency.
- Maintains all required training certifications in accordance with area guidelines.
- Keeps up‑to‑date technical knowledge of device structures and functions for both current and upcoming components.
- Recommends process improvements and partners with leadership to implement effective changes.
- Actively shares knowledge and insights to support team collaboration and continuous learning.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Flexibility to work 12‑hour shifts (3 on/4 off and 4 on/3 off) and be willing to move to different shifts and work overtime to support business operations.
- The ability to always wear lab‑specific clean room garments (100%) to prevent human contamination of products, and occasionally wear PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), such as a chemical apron and face shield (approximately 1% of the time).
- AAS or AS Degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Science, Physics, Mathematics, or Supply Chain Management (or equivalent trade school/military experience).
- 2+ years of industry experience; or equivalent military training and experience.
- 2+ year experience identifying performance gaps and implementing strategic improvements.
- Experience working within a lab environment.
