This job posting is specific to the DoD’s Skillbridge program and is only open to personnel eligible to apply for a DoD Skillbridge program. Any rank, enlisted or officer, may apply for Skill Bridge. Skill Bridge permits you to use up to the last 180 days of service to train and learn with an industry partner. During Skill Bridge participation, you continue to receive military compensation and you are covered by your military benefits.
Release for Skill Bridge is always mission‑dependent, however, and your unit commander must authorize participation prior to entering into any agreement with interested industry employment partners. Individuals who are not eligible to participate in the Skillbridge program will not be considered and should not apply. This is a full‑time, on‑site role for a drone and sensor Technician. As a Drone and Sensor Technician, you will play a critical role in the development and maintenance of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), commonly known as drones, and the associated sensors used in various applications. Your primary responsibilities will include assembling, calibrating, and repairing drones and power line sensors. This role requires a strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality to support our organization’s objectives.
Responsibilities- Assemble and configure drones, including frame assembly, motor installation, drone electronics, and wiring.
- Translate engineering specifications into physical assembly.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure drones are in working condition.
- Troubleshoot and repair any technical issues that arise.
- Perform electronics assembly on printed circuit boards, including manual and soldering oven assembly.
- Build sensor wiring harnesses.
- Perform pre‑flight checks and post‑flight inspections to guarantee safe and effective drone operation.
