Position Summary

The FTTH Construction Manager oversees the construction and delivery of fiber-to-the-home projects, including aerial and underground outside plant (OSP) work. This is an on-site position that reports directly to the FTTH Project Manager. The Construction Manager is responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with company standards. The role requires expertise in permitting, pole and conduit licensing, contractor management, and construction standards to ensure successful fiber network deployment.

This position must reside in the Boise Idaho area.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the Project Management team to identify design risks and recommend strategies to prevent construction issues.
  • Oversee construction contractors and subcontractors across multiple concurrent FTTH projects, ensuring accountability and high performance.
  • Assist the Procurement Manager in coordinating the procurement, delivery, and management of materials to support project schedules.
  • Inspect and monitor field work to ensure compliance with design specifications, safety standards, and quality requirements.
  • Provide regular reporting to the Project Manager on contractor performance, safety metrics, and overall project progress.
  • Drive drop installations to meet service level agreements and maintain project timelines.
  • Address homeowner inquiries and escalations promptly and professionally, maintaining a positive customer experience.
  • Participate in internal and external stakeholder meetings, delivering clear updates on project milestones, risks, and schedules.
  • Act as the on-site safety observer and quality assurance representative to uphold company standards.
  • Proactively identify and resolve field issues, escalating critical concerns to ensure schedule adherence.
  • Ensure all construction activities adhere to company standards, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
  • Coordinate with local and state permitting authorities and utility providers to ensure approvals are received on pace with the construction schedule, while fostering strong, collaborative partnerships.
Experience / Education /

Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience)
  • 3+ years of construction experience, with at least 2 years specific to telecommunications or FTTH builds
  • Proven ability to manage multiple contractors and oversee projects from start to finish
  • Familiarity with fiber testing equipment and methods (OTDR, power meter, loss testing) preferred
  • Knowledge of NESC, NEC, and OSHA standards and compliance requirements preferred
  • Full‐time salaried position: flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed
