Job SummaryThe Instrumentation and Controls (I&C) Construction Manager will work within the Construction Management Department and will report to the Project Manager. They will work closely with design professionals, clients, subcontractors, and craftspeople to address complex civil, architectural, and structural coordination issues. The I&C Construction Manager will participate in design and constructability reviews and lead our onsite quality control program for the controls scope of work, which will include document review during preconstruction through commissioning and punchlist.
This position will be fully at the project site.
$90,000 - $150,000 annually
Essential Responsibilities- Oversee controls subcontractor installation work daily to ensure they are maintaining their installation schedule, support system startup, and commissioning activities.
- Interface between Area Construction Managers and multiple subcontractors to assist in coordinating Mechanical/Electrical startups.
- Coordinate Building Automated Control Systems with civil, architectural, and structural elements within the overall project design.
- Organize and facilitate training of control personnel in the operations and maintenance of Building Automated Control Systems.
- Participate in startup meetings involving Area Construction Managers, Design Team members, multiple subcontractors, local utility agencies, and owners to coordinate/ drive MEP system start up activities.
- Review and process project submittal information and assist Project Engineers with the coordination between multiple submittals to ensure the accuracy and functionality of each component of the Building Automated Control Systems with the various MEP systems.
- Receive and distribute requests for information (RFI) and change documents issued by other team members.
- Field survey of control lines and benchmarks.
- Assist in estimating Building Automated Control Systems budgets and managing Building Automated Control Systems team project staffing.
- Secure Building Automated Control Systems subcontractors and equipment buyout and manage Building Automated Control Systems subcontractors contracts and contract modifications.
- Oversee billing and schedule of values for Building Automated Control Systems subcontractors and vendors.
Professional Experience and Education
- A minimum of five (5) years of building automated control system construction experience required.
- Extensive experience in industrial and/or hi-tech semiconductor manufacturing projects is required.
- Experience working in a live high tech facility required.
- LEED Accredited Professional, or the ability to become accredited within eighteen (18) months preferred.
