Base Pay Range

$70,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr

About the Position

Because of their continued growth, a General Contractor in the Greater Seattle Area is seeking a Project Engineer - Commercial Construction Ground-up to join their team. As a leader in the building industry, our client hires the best and provides outstanding personal and professional growth opportunities in a supportive, team‑orientated environment featuring high‑profile structures in the Seattle and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and management to assigned projects safely, profitably and timely.
  • Participate in marketing, estimating, bidding and contract negotiation phases of assigned projects.
  • Attend project review meetings covering contract requirements, general conditions, schedules, budgets, subcontracts and purchase order agreements.
  • Coordinate with the Project Superintendent and Project Manager on methods required for successful and profitable execution of the work.
  • Ensure timely procurement schedules, preventing and documenting delays or changes.
  • Use available reports to manage costs and prepare accurate cost projections.
  • Review and execute change orders, supplements, and cost‑control budget adjustments.
  • Assist in managing all billings to ensure timely submission of payment applications and collection of payments from the owner to maintain a positive cash‑flow position.
  • Prepare and execute purchase order agreements and subcontracts concerning insurance certificates, bonds, and the appropriate lien waivers.
  • Provide feedback to estimators for use in future bidding or negotiations, especially subcontractor performance evaluations.
  • Proficient use of all Microsoft Office Suite programs.
Qualifications
  • 4‑year degree in Construction Management or similar, or relevant experience as a Project Engineer in commercial construction.
  • 1‑3 years experience as a Project Engineer/Field Engineer.
  • Familiarity with construction industry computer software.
  • Strong communication skills with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors.
