The US Expansion Construction team is delivering some of the most significant semiconductor capital projects in the United States, including new high-volume manufacturing facilities in Boise, Idaho and Clay, New York. We are building the infrastructure that enables Micron to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all. Our team partners across engineering, construction, procurement, safety, and operations to deliver complex, schedule-driven projects that support future technology innovation.

The US Construction Risk Manager plays a critical role in protecting project outcomes across a portfolio of large-scale construction programs. This position provides leadership in identifying, quantifying, monitoring, and mitigating risk throughout the project lifecycle. The successful candidate will work closely with project stakeholders to drive risk-informed decision making, support project execution, and provide executive-level insight into potential impacts to cost, schedule, safety, quality, and project delivery.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and continuously improve the construction risk management framework, including governance, risk identification, assessment, escalation, and reporting processes
  • Own the program risk register, ensuring risks are quantified, assigned, actively managed, and tracked through closure
  • Conduct quantitative schedule and cost risk analyses, including Monte Carlo simulations, contingency planning, and forecast development
  • Partner with project teams, contractors, procurement, and stakeholders to develop and execute mitigation strategies for construction, supply chain, labor, contractual, and operational risks
  • Deliver executive-level risk reporting, facilitate cross-functional risk reviews, and support informed decision making across the project portfolio
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in construction project controls, construction management, or capital project risk management, including direct responsibility for a formal risk management program
  • Experience supporting large-scale capital construction projects valued at $1B+ within industrial, semiconductor, advanced manufacturing, data center, pharmaceutical, or similar environments
  • Strong expertise in quantitative risk analysis, including Monte Carlo schedule and cost simulations, contingency development, and risk forecasting
  • Working knowledge of construction contracts, claims management, project schedules, construction documents, OSHA construction standards, and AI tools such as Copilot or equivalent technologies
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Master's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Professional certification such as PMI-RMP, PMP, CCP, CEP, DRMP, CCM, or Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Experience supporting semiconductor fabrication facility construction, including clean rooms, process utility systems, central utility plants, or related infrastructure
  • Experience with commissioning, production turnover readiness, integrated project delivery, advanced work packaging, or lean construction methodologies
