- Perform functions in accordance with the applicable state’s Dental Auxiliaries Table of Permitted Duties.
- Actively participate in the PPE by focusing on patients’ needs and concerns.
- Escort patients to/from the front desk and introduce them to other team members as appropriate.
- Communicate with front and back office teams to ensure the Orthodontists schedule runs smoothly.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and cheerful environment.
- Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment; clean each operatory according to infection control guidelines.
- Prepare patients for treatment and assist the dentist to provide efficient, quality dental care.
- Under the clinician’s direction, complete radiographs and intra-oral pictures efficiently and timely.
- Prepare tray setups for dental procedures and maintain adequate supply levels in each operatory.
- Keep patients’ mouths dry and clear using suction or other devices.
- Instruct patients on postoperative and general oral health care as directed by the clinician.
- Record patient charting and clinician notes in the digital patient chart as directed.
- Present treatment records, consents, and health history to the clinician prior to treatment.
- Ensure equipment is maintained according to manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Work closely with Lead Dental Assistant to ensure adequate clinical supplies are on hand.
- Utilize technology and be able to operate and explain how to operate it to others.
- Participate in daily morning huddles, monthly team meetings, and other required meetings.
- Model company culture, values, standards, and best operational practices.
- Demonstrate stewardship of the PDS Brand and align decisions with the Brand framework.
- Implement the Perfect Patient Experience process to gain Patients for Life.
- Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with company policies; address others professionally.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable state, federal, and regulatory requirements.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Equivalent to high school diploma or GED, and required state-mandated certification, licensure, or registration.
- Certificates/Licenses/Registrations as mandated by applicable state.
- Specialty Dental Assistants must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance; license verified by background check and MVR at hire.
- Must be able to travel to multiple offices as required; reliable transportation required.
- In lieu of a valid driver’s license, alternate transportation acceptable if it enables timely travel to multiple offices.
- Travel may be planned or unplanned and is subject to change without notice.
- One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to respond to inquiries from patients, staff, vendors, or others.
- Sound judgment under pressure and ability to make decisions.
- Effective interaction with clinicians and owner doctors.
- Ability to interpret and apply policies and procedures.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and regulations.
- Effective verbal and written communication with patients and coworkers.
- Ability to operate basic computer software.
- Results-oriented, energetic, and reliable with the ability to multi-task.
- Strong customer service, empathy, and ethical standards.
- Active listening and ability to influence positive change.
- Independent and team-oriented work style with attention to detail.

Compensation Information: $23.75-$33.00 / Hour
