Location
ECLIPSE (Employment Capacity Leveraged through Inclusive Post-Secondary Education) is a statewide model at the University of Idaho promoting competitive integrated employment ( CIE ) within post-secondary education ( IPSE ) programs for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities ( IDD ). The ICIE (Idaho Competitive Integrated Employment) Center builds a community-based system to improve CIE outcomes for youth with disabilities aged 10–24 by strengthening transition planning and services.
Funded by the U.S. Department of Education, both projects expand opportunities and skills for individuals with disabilities across Idaho.
This position is responsible for designing and developing innovative and engaging learning content, training materials, and instructional and informational web pages that enhance knowledge retention and transfer.
Duties- Contributing as a collaborative member of the ECLIPSE and ICIE teams as an instructional designer
- Planning and managing instructional design projects that facilitate learners in acquiring knowledge and skills in an effective and appealing manner
- Conferring with and advising project staff and other constituents on best practices in integrating technologies into training program design
- Ensuring training products and web design are WCAG compliant
- Providing training and technical support to staff and stakeholders
- Three years of work experience as an instructional designer/online learning specialist in an academic setting
- Master’s Degree in instructional design, online learning and pedagogy, curriculum and instruction, educational technology, or related degree
- None
- Four or more years of related work experience as an instructional designer/online learning specialist in an academic setting
- Experience managing the administrative side of at least one LMS
- Experience using web design software, HTML5, content management platforms, graphic design tools (Adobe InDesign and/or Illustrator), and desktop publishing software
- Experience creating online training modules with e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate Storyline
- Experience creating and editing multimedia content, including audio (.mp3) and video (.mp4) files
- Experience designing and delivering dynamic workshops and in-person training
- Experience developing accessible web content that meets current WCAG standards and demonstrates use of plain language
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multi-faceted projects while collaborating effectively with internal and external stakeholders
