Our Downtown Boise Y Kids program is seeking a Float/Sub Teacher to join our team. The position is responsible for creating an environment with a teaching team that promotes each child's development and supports children and their families' diverse needs and interests.
PayBase pay range: $15.35/hr - $19.19/hr the actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
Location1050 W State St, Boise .
ScheduleThis is a part-time position averaging 10-25 hours per week. Typical schedule is 2:30 pm - 6:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with flexibility for additional hours.
Responsibilities- Create an environment that fosters safety through active supervision and role-modeling safe behavior.
- Nurture children through purposeful programs dedicated to building relationships, achievement, and belonging.
- Develop intentional relationships and maintain effective daily communication with participants and parents using the Y voice attributes.
- Implement the established curriculum that achieves the five Cause Measurement goals.
- Use positive behavior guidance techniques to support children's appropriate development and behavior.
- Monitor and ensure the health and safety of participants, families, staff, and volunteers by following the Child Development Branch approved Leading Practices.
- Use Y Core Values, developmentally appropriate practices, and effective teaching strategies to support each child's unique background, needs and different learning styles.
- Maintain an indoor and outdoor environment that is well equipped, organized, safe, clean, and welcoming.
- Must be 16 years of age or older.
- Minimum 1 year of working with children is preferred.
- Must be able to engage others in conversations and make all people feel welcome.
- Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations.
- Must have good interpersonal and communication skills and be sensitive, adaptable, professional, and articulate when dealing with others.
- Boise City and/or Idaho State Childcare License – prerequisite upon hire, 14-day compliance period.
- Pediatric CPR/AED – prerequisite upon hire, 14-day compliance period.
- First Aid – prerequisite upon hire, 14-day compliance period.
