Job description
BSN Assistant Professor - Part Time (On Ground)This position will instruct Nursing courses in the Nursing programs.
Instruction- Facilitates and evaluates student learning in clinicals, labs, or SCE using course outlines.
- Supervises and debriefs students in lab, clinical, or SCE settings.
- Available for student communication via email, phone, or conferences.
- Meets all scheduled classes, clinicals, and meetings on time, notifying Dean if delayed.
- Ensures classrooms, labs, or conference rooms are left clean and orderly.
- Attend New Faculty Orientation and participate in Faculty Mentor Program
- Maintain a faculty development plan with the assistance of academic administration
- Attend campus faculty meetings and in-service trainings and other meetings as assigned
- Remain current in program knowledge, including maintaining licensure, certification, or continuing education requirements where appropriate
- Participate in professional development activities
- Keep accurate attendance records, posting attendance in the portal and submitting attendance roster to the Academic Department for each class period in a timely manner
- Assign grades and maintain course/student records in accordance with FERPA regulations and submit grades and records by established deadlines
- Make missed lab, SCE, or clinical phone calls to students that miss or are not actively engaged in learning outcomes
- Make recommendations and adhere to the Academic Freedom policy as outlined in the Faculty handbook
- Perform other duties designated by the Program Administrator, Lead Instructor and/or Academic Dean
- Collaborates on preparing and grading exams and evaluations.
- Tracks and submits attendance and grades.
- Assists in program quality assessment and planning.
- Orients new faculty in theory and clinical settings.
- Maintains student records and program data.
- Submits reports to Director on time.
- Supervises and evaluates student clinical experiences.
- Ensures clinical assignments meet student and facility needs.
- Assesses clinical facilities for safety compliance.
- Supports student communication and advising.
- Current, unencumbered RN license.
- MSN or BSN with teaching experience/enrolled.
- Meets state Board of Registered Nursing faculty requirements.
- Shows current nursing knowledge, mentoring ability, and strong communication skills.
- 1+ year adult instruction experience preferred.
- Knowledge of educational methodology or clinical practice.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint).
