About Peace Valley Charter School

Peace Valley Charter School is a public, tuition‑free K–8 school located in Boise, Idaho. Founded in 2018, we are currently in our 8th year and joyfully moving into Year 9 in the 2026–27 school year
. As the first Waldorf charter school in our region, we are proud to serve families who seek a whole‑child education within a public school setting.

Peace Valley is led by a director who brings both deep classroom experience and pedagogical leadership
. She taught as a Waldorf class teacher for eight years before stepping into administration and holds a Master’s degree in Waldorf Education
. Under her leadership, the school is intentionally working to balance Idaho state requirements and academic rigor with authentic Waldorf pedagogy
, supporting teachers in doing meaningful, developmentally appropriate work.

Our Educational Approach

Peace Valley is guided by Waldorf principles while meeting Idaho Content Standards. Our curriculum integrates arts, movement, music, storytelling, and nature‑based learning to support students’ intellectual, emotional, and social development.

General Responsibilities and Duties
  • Develop curriculum collaboratively, integrating arts, movement, nature, and Idaho Content Standards
  • Facilitate cross‑curricular instruction
  • Assess and document student learning and development
  • Communicate regularly and thoughtfully with families
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and evaluation processes

    Supervise students throughout the school day
  • Maintain a nurturing, peaceful, safe, and positive learning environment
Qualifications
  • Valid Idaho State Teaching Certificate or the ability to become certified through the Idaho State Department of Education
  • Waldorf teacher trained or willingness to complete Waldorf teacher training if not already certified through a recognized Waldorf training program
  • Interest in becoming dually certified (Idaho credential + Waldorf training)
  • Additional skills or interests in drawing, painting, singing, movement, handwork, drama, or music are highly valued
