Overview
Senior Mechanical Engineer, Mission Critical, Traveler role at JE Dunn Construction.
Responsibilities- Autonomy & Decision-Making:
Makes decisions on routine matters, provides recommendations to supervisor and refers all exceptions to supervisor. - Role responsibilities include completing increasingly complex mechanical, electrical and field construction activities; collecting and assembling data; developing estimates; and generating systems and bid analyses in support of JE Dunn’s strategy, vision and values.
- In addition, responsibilities include completing mechanical, electrical and field construction activities; developing budgetary M/E estimates based on program and schematic design information; reviewing options, conducting systems analysis, and providing value engineering suggestions; coordinating scopes of work during the bid process; developing sequencing requirements; and contributing to quality control and constructability efforts.
- Possesses and applies knowledge to perform job inspections to ensure specifications are met and work is completed in a quality and timely manner; supports shop drawing/submittal processes; assists with commissioning activities including developing pre-functional checklists and functional tests.
- Promotes a culture of diversity and inclusion in line with JE Dunn’s non-discrimination policy.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, architectural engineering or related field (Required). In lieu of the above, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
- 5+ years construction and/or engineering experience (Preferred).
- Knowledge and skills: ability to read and understand plans and specifications; proficiency with MS Office; familiarity with basic JE Dunn M/E tools and software; ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team.
- Experience with developing M/E estimates, bid analysis, sequencing, and quality control programs; ability to perform work accurately and in a timely manner.
- Valid and unrestricted driver’s license required.
