New College Grad - Engineer, Electrical Design - High-Speed
Micron Technology is seeking a new college graduate to join the Systems Integration Group (SIG) as an Electrical Design Engineer. The role focuses on designing and implementing advanced test equipment for semiconductor manufacturing, emphasizing high‑speed PCB design, electromagnetic simulation, post‑layout analysis, and measurement.
Responsibilities- Participate in high‑speed PCB design and verification, including electromagnetic simulation, post‑layout analysis, and frequency‑domain tools (Keysight, Hyper Lynx).
- Perform and proceduralize S‑parameter and time‑domain lab measurements (TDR, eye diagrams) as part of a team.
- Work with design teams using schematic capture and layout tools (e.g., Siemens Xpedition) to assist in analog and digital circuit design, component selection, and PCB layout focusing on signal and power integrity.
- Support debugging and verification of PCB assemblies using lab equipment (DMM, oscilloscope, power supply).
- Contribute to design documents, test plans, lab reports, and requirements specifications.
- Apply basic programming or scripting (Python preferred) for design automation and data analysis.
- Document, control, and manage engineering changes for PCB designs, assist with prototype qualification, deployment, and issue resolution under senior engineer guidance.
- BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
- Familiarity with lab equipment such as DMM, oscilloscope, power supply, and electronic load instruments.
- Experience or familiarity with PCB schematic capture and layout tools (e.g., Siemens Xpedition, Cadence OrCAD, KiCad).
- Exposure to VNAs and/or TDRs.
- Familiarity with 3D Field Solvers is a plus.
- Intermediate understanding of signal integrity and power integrity concepts.
- Introductory experience with scripting languages (Python preferred).
- Motivation to learn advanced high‑speed simulation and measurement techniques.
