I and C Engineer - Intermediate (Data Centers)
Join us at Jacobs and bring your expertise in instrumentation and controls to our state‑of‑the‑art data center projects across the United States. The role is based at Jacobs’ data center facilities, but you may work from any U.S. location.
Base pay range$69,500.00/yr – $95,500.00/yr
ResponsibilitiesYou’ll be accountable for maintaining the schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks. You will provide on‑site assistance during startup, coordinate with other staff and the discipline lead, and work collaboratively with architects, engineers, and designers to deliver complete, world‑class solutions. Your key responsibilities include developing P&IDs, sizing valves, specifying instrumentation, documenting and modeling design information, and ensuring compliance with building codes and industry standards.
SkillRequirements
Here's what you'll need:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Control Systems, or Electrical Engineering
- At least 2 years of experience working with instrumentation and control
Ideally, you’ll also have:
- Working knowledge of DDC, PLC, DCS, and other control applications
- Experience working with data centers
- Engineer in Training (EIT)
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
- Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
- Ability to collaborate and work effectively in multidisciplinary teams
- Passion for buildings and construction
