Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Field Service Engineer based in Boise, Field Service Engineer will install, maintain, and repair equipment, ensuring optimal performance. Daily responsibilities include troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and providing technical support for equipment and systems. Additionally, the role requires maintaining strong relationships with customers to deliver exceptional service and effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality on-site repair and maintenance of complex electro‑mechanical systems, including component and unit replacement
- Install and relocate customer equipment, execute start‑up procedures, and conduct system qualifications
- Use diagnostic tools and test equipment to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues efficiently
- Ensure outstanding customer satisfaction while adhering to strict safety and cleanroom protocols
- Maintain accurate service records, reports, and inventory documentation
- Collaborate on project planning and coordination with internal teams and customers
Requirements
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and critical‑thinking skills
- Professional demeanor with excellent customer‑facing communication abilities
- Valid driver’s license
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
- Solid organizational and project‑management capabilities
- Ability to work flexible shifts and travel domestically/internationally as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting semiconductor capital equipment
- Previous electromechanical field service experience on complex automated systems (any industry)
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent military/technical training)
- Experience working in cleanroom environments is a plus
Physical Requirements
- Comfortable working in confined spaces, at heights, and in awkward positions
- Ability to lift/carry up to 35 lbs
- Frequent bending, stooping, crawling, and climbing as needed
- Full use of required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in cleanroom and hazardous‑production environments
Travel & Training
- Initial 3‑week product training (fully paid, expenses covered)
- Ongoing domestic and potentially international travel (approximately 25%)
