Senior CMP Equipment Engineer

Micron Technology – Boise, Idaho.

Senior CMP (chemical mechanical planarization) Equipment Engineer focused on safety and quality. In this role, you will install, maintain, optimize, and develop CMP equipment to support the production of high‑quality semiconductor components. You will work closely with cross‑functional teams to resolve equipment issues and improve productivity and yield.

Responsibilities
  • Installation and qualification of industry‑leading CMP equipment in the new cleanroom.
  • Oversee CMP equipment performance, including data analysis, preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with process engineers to identify and resolve equipment‑related issues affecting production.
  • Apply project‑management methodology to complete projects that close hardware gaps around equipment deficiencies.
  • Establish productive vendor relationships to maintain supplier engagement and drive benchmark equipment performance.
  • Develop and implement Total Productive Maintenance strategies.
Minimum

Required Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of industry experience as an Equipment Owner with chemical mechanical planarization (CMP).
  • BS or Master’s degree in an engineering field, or equivalent military experience, or an AAS with 5+ years of industry experience.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for onboarding and training purposes.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes and equipment.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with a meticulous approach.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in data science and programming skills.
