EHS Engineer II Contractor

Responsibilities- Champion workplace safety and provide leadership through communication, education, and actions.
- Conduct EHS training such as respiratory training and fit testing, fall protection, control of hazardous energies, qualified electrical worker, and ergonomics.
- Perform detailed ergonomic analyses by collecting and interpreting data from employees and work environments, using various tools to evaluate risk and collaborating with teams to propose realistic solutions.
- Research and apply regulatory and industry safety codes, such as OSHA, NFPA, NEC, SEMI, and ANSI.
- Apply PPE, industrial hygiene, and ergonomic assessments, make recommendations, and report on results.
- Conduct incident investigations using root cause analysis to drive system improvements.
- Lead site safety committee meetings and manage closure of related action items.
- Support the development of engineering and administrative controls to mitigate risk to target levels.
- Cultivate internal and external customer relationships that drive implementation of safety systems or improvements that promote safe work habits.
- Review and update EHS policies, procedures, and best known methods (BKMs) throughout the organization.
- Provide safety coaching to employees and leadership that aligns with regional safety activities and initiatives.
- Support other facilities throughout the U.S. if needed, which may require occasional overnight travel.
- Minimum of 2 years of EHS experience.
- Certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, CPE are a plus.
- Bachelor of Science in engineering, chemistry, biology, industrial hygiene, safety, or a closely related field.
- Strong preference for EHS experience at a semiconductor equipment manufacturing facility.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations.
- Ability to work independently with excellent interpersonal communication and written skills.
- Dependable, stable under pressure, and adaptable to change.
Job duties may be performed in a clean room environment, in awkward positions, and/or in high places. Mechanical aptitude, manual dexterity, and the ability to lift or carry objects up to 35 pounds may be required. May also involve bending, stooping, crawling, climbing, and use of PPE.
