Senior Fire Protection Engineer (Technical Focus)

This role is for a purely technical Fire Protection Engineer — someone who wants to focus on solving complex engineering challenges without the pressure of sales or business development. You’ll join a highly respected consultancy delivering technically challenging work across commercial, industrial, healthcare, mission-critical, and infrastructure projects. This is an ideal role for a senior engineer who enjoys deep technical involvement, design leadership, and mentoring — without carrying BD targets.
WhatYou’ll Be Doing:
- Lead technical delivery of fire protection and life safety engineering projects
- Perform detailed code consulting , life safety analysis, and system design
- Design and review fire alarm, sprinkler, smoke control, and special hazard systems
- Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications
- Serve as a technical resource and mentor to junior engineers
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and AHJs
- Ensure quality, compliance, and consistency across project deliverables
- 8–15+ years of fire protection engineering experience
- PE license in Fire Protection Engineering (required or in process)
- Strong technical background across NFPA, IBC/IFC, and local codes
- Experience working in a consulting engineering environment
- Desire to focus on technical excellence rather than sales or BD
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Fully remote, U.S.
