Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a Financial Analyst or Senior Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. While this position is based at Idaho Power’s downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote.

What does a Financial Analyst or Senior Financial Analyst They are responsible for providing business decision support. Additional duties include:

Performing specialized financial, accounting, budgeting, planning activities and analysis

Acting as a consultant on financial policy, procedure, and application

Preparing and presenting conclusions and recommendations to management

Requiring knowledge of financial and accounting theory, principles and practices, regulatory recovery methods, and utility rate making practices

A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE Knowledge of:
· Financial theory (such as time value of money, discounted cash flows, capital structure, and the development of weighted average cost of capital), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) accounting
· The Company’s revenue requirement and cost recovery mechanisms and applies those in modeling

Skills in:
· Effective oral and written communication, proper grammar, spelling, and punctuation

· Proficiency in Excel, Word, and query tools

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field

Preferred:o Additional college classes in finance and/or accounting above the bachelor's degree requirements or advanced degree in related field

Experience:

· 2 years of professional experience in accounting or finance

Preferred:o Utility experience

Licenses &

Certifications:

· N/AP referred:o Professional certification such as CFA, CMA, or CPASenior Financial Analyst

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field

Preferred:o Additional college classes in finance and/or accounting above the bachelor's degree requirements or advanced degree in related field

Experience:

· 5 or more years of professional experience in finance or accounting.

Preferred:o Utility experience
