Staff Psychologist – Boise State University School of Nursing, Boise,  type:
Non-Classified/Professional.

Department Overview
University Health Services is seeking an experienced Psychologist to join our Counseling team.

Job Summary / Basic Function

Coordinates and provides psychological assessments, reports, and direct/indirect professional counseling services for Boise State University students, faculty, and staff. Direct services include individual, multi‑person, and group counseling, crisis intervention, AODA evaluations, and various psychological assessments. The role also offers direct clinical supervision to other mental health clinicians and participates in case management and outreach/preventative programs.

Responsibilities
  • Direct Clinical Services (60% of time)
    • Provide direct service counseling (individual, multi‑person, group, psychological evaluation) to students, faculty, and staff.
    • Coordinate and provide psychological assessments.
    • Provide crisis intervention and triage coverage/consultation to the university community.
    • Offer weekly individual supervision to assigned supervisee(s).
    • Perform other clinical services as assigned (group supervision facilitation, AODA assessments, ADHD assessments, etc.).
  • Administrative and Indirect Services (35% of time)
    • Participate in weekly psych rounds, staff meetings, and other meetings as assigned.
    • Complete case notes and reports of assessments in a timely manner.
    • Assist with administrative coordination of specific areas (e.g., AODA Programming, workshops, outreach) and/or participate on university committees/groups.
    • Consult as needed with Health Services colleagues, parents, faculty, staff, and community about mental health concerns.
  • Other Duties (5% of time)
    • Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Proficiency in administering psychological assessment tools and providing individual, multi‑person, and group counseling.
  • Strong empathy, advanced listening skills, problem‑solving abilities, and a wide repertoire of intervention strategies.
  • Excellent assessment, diagnostic, and psychopathology skills with experience working on a highly integrated clinical team.
  • Experience in clinical supervision and professional training within psychology, counseling, or social work.
  • Leadership modeling, knowledge of ethical guidelines, state statutes, and professional development practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills across diverse student, faculty, and staff populations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a proactive, flexible, solution‑focused manner.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or Psy.

    D. in Counseling Psychology or Clinical Psychology.
  • Active licensure by the state of Idaho as a Clinical or Counseling Psychologist.
  • Experience with psychological assessment tools and clinical supervision.
  • Knowledge of individual and group psychotherapy and counseling theories and practices.
Salary and Benefits
  • Salary range: $83,200 – $93,600 annually ($40 – $45 per hour).
  • 12 paid holidays, with a 3‑day vacation requirement for the year‑end shutdown.
  • 12–24 annual paid vacation days for full‑time professionals, based on position type and years of service.
  • University retirement contributions: 10.76% to PERS (Professional &Faculty) and 11.96% to ORP (Classified).
