Clinical Lab Scientist / Med Tech in the Micro Department at Boise Regional Medical Center (a Level 2 trauma center). Relocation assistance available.

Full time - Shift: Evening Shift
- Hours:
Flexible – you may work four 10‑hour shifts every two weeks or five 8‑hour shifts every two weeks.
- Performs, records and reviews scheduled QC; takes immediate corrective action when QC data is outside established limits.
- Records routine maintenance of equipment, recognizes and documents poor instrument performance, and takes appropriate action independently.
- Verifies specimen labeling, integrity and suitability before performing testing.
- Accurately performs low, medium and high complexity testing procedures according to established protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Reports test results accurately and appropriately; reports critical results to physicians, nursing stations or physician offices according to established protocol.
- Prioritizes work to maintain maximum efficiency and assists other areas as needed.
- Performs phlebotomy when needed according to laboratory policies and procedures.
- Monitors supply inventory and takes appropriate action to ensure needed supplies are readily available.
- Reviews work performed by clinical laboratory assistants and performs corrective actions if required.
- Performs expected tasks without direction of supervisor; ensures accuracy of work being reported by assigned department and resolves problems immediately, communicating with oncoming shift, nurses and physicians as appropriate.
- Bachelor's Degree required.
- Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS), Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) or equivalent certification by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) required, or registry eligible and obtained within 1 year of hire date.
- Completion of medical technology training required.
- Experience in a clinical laboratory preferred.
- Consistently perform, record, and review scheduled QC; take immediate corrective action when QC data is outside established limits.
- Conduct routine equipment maintenance, recognize poor instrument performance, and act independently to resolve issues.
- Verify specimen labeling, integrity, and suitability before testing.
- Accurately execute low, medium and high complexity testing procedures following protocols and regulatory requirements.
- Report test results accurately; communicate critical results to the appropriate healthcare providers.
- Prioritize tasks for maximum efficiency; assist other departments as needed.
- Perform phlebotomy where required by policies and procedures.
- Track supply inventory and ensure essential supplies are always available.
- Review and provide corrective actions on work performed by laboratory assistants.
- Operate independently, troubleshoot analyzers, and communicate effectively with shift teams and clinicians.
